Texas Tech Law School celebrated the opening of its Wellness Room with a ribbon cutting on November 28, 2018. The space, an initiative of the Student Wellness Advisory Committee (SWAC), the Office for Student Life, and the Law School Library, is designed for students to decompress, de-stress, and rejuvenate.
Jack Wade Nowlin, dean of the School of Law; Sofia Chapman, associate dean for student life; and Gunnison Matula, president of the SWAC, spoke at the ribbon cutting.
The room can be reserved for 30-minute blocks, up to one hour per person. It is the only room in the Law School where students are not permitted to study.
